Modify your documents into a standardized format exchange

R2 is based on the configuration of the software Adobe Acrobat. It is, therefore, compatible with all formats used by Acrobat. Its open architecture also allows it to use specific plug-ins in order to manage all other formats. These plug-ins may be made by C6 or developed otherwise. The number of supported formats is potentially unlimited.

Use of R2 it is: Convert automatically documents, on one single normalized exchange format. One tool to convert on PDF different document formats.

The conversion of files into PDF format takes into account the creation of bookmarks and management of internal links. The use of files produced is, therefore, possible in publication tools that are able to create tables of content using these bookmarks.

R2 has a configuration interface allowing the user to control its behavior in a multi-docbase environment and to facilitate its operation. If required, it would be possible, to simultaneously use, several R2 servers in the same environment.

 

Multi-docbases

R2 can manage several docbases and, for each of them, several queues.
For each docbase/queue combination, the configuration of the maximum number of documents processed during each cycle allows the desired load balancing.

Priority management

In complement to the load balancing, R2 also takes into account priorities, set by the application carrying out the rendition request, within each queue.  

When it is used with D2, R2 allows very precise management of priorities, by document set, using the 'rendition configuration' setting offered by D2.

Security management

To preserve document confidentiality, R2 allows the user to configure the deletion of unconverted documents if there is an error, so that confidential documents are not left on the rendition server.

Management of errors and notification messages

R2 integrates an efficient error management system, allowing blockages caused by conversion errors to be avoided.
It is also able to inform the sender of the rendition request that the conversion has failed, via a Documentum notification and by email.
Finally, it is also possible to inform, by the same means, an application administrator.
